High treason case to hear today

ISLAMABAD: High Treason Case against Former President Pervez Musharaf would hear today. In last hearing Musharaf was indicted. Special court heard the case  in Auditorium of national Library for three month. After being indicted Ministry of Law had issued the notification of re-position the court for various reasons. Strict security measures would be taken for today’s trial. Special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab indicted Musharaf in the last hearing while the accused denied all the offenses. Former President Pervez Musharraf said, for him the use of the word betrayal is painful as he was the Army Chief and President.

Man arrested again for cannibalism in Bhakkar

  BHAKKAR: A man who had earlier been convicted for cannibalism along with his brother re-arrested by police here on Monday. Police conducted a raid at the residence of Arif and Farman on a tip off from neighbours and recovered the head of a child. Arif was arrested while Farman remains at large and police are conducting raids for his arrest. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and summoned a report from the DPO. Brothers Arif and Farman were arrested three years ago for cannibalism and a case had been lodged against them on 11 April 2011 in the Darya Khan police station. The Darya Khan civil judge sentenced the brothers to a one year jail term and Rs200,000 fine each. The brothers were released from prison on 18 May 2013. The residents of the area protested against the release of the brothers who remained out of sight for some time. However, they returned home and once again started eating human flesh.

Street children football players awarded

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Transport Youth and Sports Affairs Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani on Monday distributed cash rewards and souvenirs among street children football team that clinched bronze medal in the Street Children World Cup 2014. A ceremony in this regard was held at sports minister’s office which was attended by Minister for Social Welfare Rubina Sadat Qaimkhani, Minister for Kutchi Abadis Javed Nagori and Member Provincial Assembly Sania Naz and Azad Foundation representative Irfan Maqbool. The minister gave away cash rewards each worth Rs 50,000 to each team member with a souvenir. Murree: Maternal Uncle kills two children brutally

MURREE: Maternal uncle brutally slaughtered and murdered two children in Tryt area of Murree while one injured child was taken to PIMS hospital. According to SSP Operations Rawalpindi Mian Maqbool, two children Umair Ali and Qadir were brutally slaughtered while one seriously injured child Zain Ali was taken to PIMS Hospital. The slain children belonged to Abbottabad region and their uncle allegedly brought them into tryt area. Police recovered a jeep and a knife used in the incident. Slain children’s grandfather Sardar Altaf told media that “children’s maternal uncle took them for outing in a very pleasant mood. When children did not reach home till night, then we thought that they were kidnapped”. PIMS spokesperson Dr. Ayesha Essani told media that bodies of two children have been shifted to the morgue, while a seriously injured child naming Zain was in critical condition. According to police children’s maternal uncle killed them after instructed by his ‘Amil’.

Five militants killed in Darra Adam Khel operation

PESHAWAR: Five suspected militants, including a key commander, belonging to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Darra Adam Khel area on Sunday. Intelligence sources said that five militant were killed in Darra Adam Khels border area with Frontier Region of Peshawar adding that further details regarding the incident were not available. The Taliban commander killed was identified as Jangraiz, according to intelligence sources. Police sources were yet to confirm the incident and claimed to be unaware of any operations conducted in the area. after initial media reports had claimed that the five suspected militants were killed in an operation conducted by security forces.

Imran attaches country progress with peace

LAHORE: Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan said Sunday that Pakistan could not be sailed to development path without restoration of peace. Addressing to a ceremony Imran said that when PTI has taken over the KP government there was pile of problems lying here while all the factories has become in dire shape. He further said “Half of the budget being allocated for education and a project for provision of modern facilities to educational institutions is being underway that envisaged with all state of art facilities.
