ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet meet got underway in Islamabad today (Tuesday) to discuss key national issues, including the process of dialogue with Taliban and options of military action against them, media reported.
According to sources, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will table the five-year National Security Policy before the cabinet for approval.
He would brief the cabinet about the overall law and order situation in the country as well as measures being taken to combat militancy.
Sources said that important decisions regarding dialogue with Taliban and action against militants in North Waziristan are also likely to be made during today’s session.
They added that the prime minister would take cabinet members in confidence about negotiations with the Taliban and the government future course of strategy.
