MQM to hold anti-terror rally tomorrow in Karachi



KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will stage a rally in the port city of Karachi tomorrow to show its solidarity with the Pakistan Army, Rangers and other law enforcement personnel fighting against terrorism, media reported.
The rally would be held on Karachi's Shahrah-e-Quaideen at 3 pm in the afternoon.
A meeting of its central coordination (Rabita) committees in Karachi and London decided to hold the rally.
Speaking to members of the Rabita committee, MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain said the public and the army shared a united stance against terrorism.
He moreover appealed to the public to participate in the rally in order to prove that they were with the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies against fighting militancy.
Meanwhile, party members, along with the MQM leadership, support the crackdowns against terrorists.
Speaking at a Haleem party in Karachi, MQM member Babar Ghouri said the political leadership of the country had mandated the federal government to restore peace in the country during the All Parties Conference  meeting and not to hold peace talks with the Taliban.

I SLAMABAD: Three female students of International Islamic University Islamabad made it to the television headlines on Saturday as a court bailiff recovered them from the university hostel where they were allegedly confined by the administration. Cabinet meeting: Govt’s final decision about Taliban likely today

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet meet got underway in Islamabad today (Tuesday) to discuss key national issues, including the process of dialogue with Taliban and options of military action against them, media reported. According to sources, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will table the five-year National Security Policy before the cabinet for approval. He would brief the cabinet about the overall law and order situation in the country as well as measures being taken to combat militancy. Sources said that important decisions regarding dialogue with Taliban and action against militants in North Waziristan are also likely to be made during today’s session. They added that the prime minister would take cabinet members in confidence about negotiations with the Taliban and the government future course of strategy.
