KARACHI: Deadline given by the Supreme Court expired today (Friday) but the Provincial Government could not appoint new IG Sindh.
Supreme Court allowed Sindh Government to appoint IG Sindh until March 27, which the Sindh Government could not meet the prescribed time. A Cold War was continuing between Federal and Provincial Government on the issue of appointment of IG Sindh.
The Provincial Government had objected on three names sent by Federal Government. Different names were being considered for the appointment of the Police chief in the province. According to sources, Mir Zubair, Iqbal Mahmood and Fayyaz Leghari were being considered as strongest candidates for the appointment of Highest official of the province.
