Nawaz, Zardari discuss security, political situation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s held one on one meeting and discussed number of issues including anti-terrorism law, national security and current political situation.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari along with a delegation met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at PM House in Islamabad. According to State Television, Karachi operation, matter related to anti-terrorism law, national security and political situation were discussed in the meeting.
Opposition leader Khursheed Shah, Raza Rabbani  and provincial minister Murad Ali Shah were also present with Asif Zardari, while Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Zahid Hamid and Fawad Hassan were also present in the meeting at PM House.
According to sources, the military tension between Government and army, Taliban negotiations and Protection of Pakistan Bill were discussed between both leaders. Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received Asif Ali Zardari when he reached PM House. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offered lunch in honor of the former president.

Islamabad:Fuss at Islamic university as girls ‘confined’ at hostel

I SLAMABAD: Three female students of International Islamic University Islamabad made it to the television headlines on Saturday as a court bailiff recovered them from the university hostel where they were allegedly confined by the administration. The university administration however denied the charges strongly, arguing the students were expelled from hostel through disciplinary action, but they opted to lock themselves up in hostel rooms and create the mess through electronic media coverage. Neelum Jehan, Romana and Hiba were allegedly confined by the hostel administration Friday evening with no food and water, and the bailiff recovered them after more than 18 hours of confinement. Cabinet meeting: Govt’s final decision about Taliban likely today

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet meet got underway in Islamabad today (Tuesday) to discuss key national issues, including the process of dialogue with Taliban and options of military action against them, media reported. According to sources, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will table the five-year National Security Policy before the cabinet for approval. He would brief the cabinet about the overall law and order situation in the country as well as measures being taken to combat militancy. Sources said that important decisions regarding dialogue with Taliban and action against militants in North Waziristan are also likely to be made during today’s session. They added that the prime minister would take cabinet members in confidence about negotiations with the Taliban and the government future course of strategy.
